Morne Plingué has been described as being difficult to climb.
• In 1792, the freedmen of Grand'Anse, led by Bernard, seized the Plingué post from the white settlers and pushed their oppressors back to Corail.
Plymouth[]
The area that was known as Plymouth is situated at the base of the Saddle Mountain Range within the commune of Corail and is renowned for its high coffee production, located on the outskirts of the Les Cayes Borough. The coffee trees yield as much as 5 pounds per foot and are regarded as the most aesthetically pleasing on the island. The region receives an annual rainfall of 4,497 millimeters (177 inches). The Glace River and the Corail River both originate in this vicinity.
• In December 1794, Colonel Geffrard successfully quelled the English forces in the mountains of Plymouth, achieving notable victories.
• On February 5, 1843, a a delegation from the town of Jérémie traveled along the route to Plymouth to inform General Borgella of their reasons for opposing 2President Boyer. The commissioners included Messrs. Cayemite, Fourose Brière, and Fouchard.
• On June 12, 1846, the Piquets of Plymouth surrendered to General Gara.
