Trou Canari (English: "Canary Hole") represents the fifth and sixth sections of the town of Petit-Goâve, Haiti.
History[]
This section was founded under its original designation as the fifth and sixth rural section of Petit-Goave. The area was long productive of coffee and food supplies. Economic activity included breeding of goats and other cattle. Development was centered around a chapel on the Merlan (also spelled Mirlan) habitation. This section is separated by the Bistouri River with the 7th des Platons to the north and to the south by 2 mountains which meet with the 6th. Centered around the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, the sixth section produces a lot of food. The plains are lined with Palm trees and Banana trees.
