Thor, (also spelled Torre or Tort), is a communal section in the Western Department of Haiti. It is the tenth section of Carrefour.

About[]

This was the site of the largest sugar plantation in the colony, which spanned four rural sections; (Thor, Dufresne, Riviere Froide, and Bizoton). There are all types of land, from the marshes favorable to the rice fields on the seashore, to the warm land of the hills where cotton and millet are cultivated. Seven sources originate there, the main ones being La Mahotiere, Jean-Baptiste, Corossol, and Cramini.

Quarries of freestone, opened in 1884, provided the first foundation stones of the new Cathedral of Port-au-Prince, which have been extracted there.

The section is characterized by magnificent views and healthy air in the heights. Tort is bounded to the north by the harbor of Port au Prince, to the east by the Diquini river from the source to the mouth; by the Riviere Froide, Carrefour, Truitier and the Cote habitations on the west.

The road from Leogene to Port-au-Prince crosses Tort, for about 3 kilometrs.
