History[]
• On February 28, 1868, this section was immortalized by a famous fight between the Government troops commanded in person by President Salnave, and the Cacos bands encamped in a fort and under the command of Robert Noel, were defeated and dispersed. Everything was burnt there. At Camp Robert, located at one Mont-Organisé's foothills, the Cacos had built a two-story palisade fortress, armed with eight pieces of cannon and a copper howitzer (canisters with two mouths, according to the word of the Cacos).
• In 1875, this section was subdivided by giving birth to the section of Trou Gens-de-Nantes. Noted habitations include Escotte, Chanche, and Mateliere. It is bounded to the east by the Riviere du Massacre.
