Plate Forme is the first communal section of Bombardopolis, Nord-Ouest, Haiti.
About[]
This section was originally centered around a natural fortress located by the sea. It consisted of three armed forts, a powder magazine, and a small hamlet. Its cove serves as a landing area for the inhabitants of Bombardopolis, which use it like the one at Baie-de-Henne.
La Plate-forme brought together all the advantages sought by a military genius. It is a long chain of rocks which dip their feet perpendicularly into the sea, the top of which forms a plateau on which one could easily place several batteries. From the land side, these sheer cliff-like rocks are inaccessible. The area of land which extends behind, covered with trees, has received the name of Jardin du Diable. Gaiac, the ironwood, and firewood are there in abundance.

History[]
- In 1810, during the evacuation of the Möle, the garrison followed the coast to Plate-Forme where it disbanded: a few officers surrendered to Christophe, others fell into the woods.
- In November 1888, the government warship the Toussaint Louverture collided in front of Plate-Forme with the German merchant ship the Cremon. This latter one was badly damaged; both won Port-au-Prince.
- In August 24, 1891 Deputy N. Jean Baptiste proposed the chamber to erect a military post in this place.
