Maguá was of the five (states) kingdoms of the Indians who inhabited Haiti before European contact. It was called Kingdom of the Plain. Its capital was at the place where the city of La Conception de la Vega was built. The King Guarionex commanded there.
Maguá means "the Stone". The chiefdom's mother-goddess was Guacara or the 'Stone Mother'.
