About[]
Orignally the eighth rural section of the municipality of Ouanaminthe, located in the Fort Liberté borough, Lamine was established around a rural school. This area served as a subdivision of the Savane Longue rural section. The boundary between the Trou and Fort Liberté boroughs begins at the source of the Bayaha River and extends to Lamine. Additionally, a gold mine that was operated by the Spanish in this rural section contributed to the naming of Lamine.
