Located within the Plaisance municipality, 5eLa Trouble was initially the first rural area of Plaisance the commune was part of the Limbé Borough. The establishment of a rural school prompted the founding of this area in 1875, which eventually resulted in the creation of the 6eLa Ville section.
The Trois-Rivières River meanders through the municipalities of Plaisance, Gros-Morne, Terre Neuve, Limbé, and Port-de-Paix, eventually flowing into the Bay of Port-de-Paix. This river is formed by three distinct streams: the northernmost, named Latrouble, after the rural area it traverses; the central stream, la Graix; and the southernmost, la Grande-Rivière. These streams converge at the Latrouble basin, where they collectively adopt the name Trois-Rivières.
This rural section has historically been home to over 150 thriving coffee plantations.
