Meet the Municipalities[]
Arcahaie🏛️ (130,506) This semi-rural port-city was originally a border town between the Kingdom of Henri I and the Republic of the South and the West. It became famous for hosting the May 18, 1803 congress which gave rise to the creation of the Haitian national flag. Named for the plain that surrounds it, Arcahaie is the country's largest producer of plantains and sugar cane.
Cabaret (68,245) This town, whose main activities are mainly based on agriculture (plant production, livestock and fishing) trade and industry, is full of ecotourism and economic potential. Home to two of the largest companies in the country, the Cimenterie Nationale and Les Moulins d'Haiti, Cabaret has natural resources that were hitherto untapped. If it is well known for its banana and sugar cane production, the fishing industry occupies an equally important place. It is also the gateway to the “Côtes des Arcadins”, an important tourist center of the country.
