History[]
A portion of the Haut Coq Chante area was separated from the commune of Jacmel by an order dated October 3, 1925, and assigned to the Trouin district, extending from the river left of Trouin to the Marana pass, then to the top of Morne Castel, and finally to the Bernard market on the borders of Léogane.
