Gens-de-Nantes is the fifth communal section of Ouanaminthe, Haiti.
About[]
During a workshop of reflection and planning held in the city of Ouanaminthe, the muncipal section of Gens-de-Nantes was called upon to ensure a harmonious and sustainable development of the commune's enviorment. It was presented by a program called Landscaping of the hills. This program is particularly important for the section of Gens-de-Nantes, where the waters of the river of the same name, whose hydroelectric potential is recognized (300 kW), serve for other purposes. The protection of this strategic watershed will increase the volume of water infiltration and reduce runoff and sediment mass carried downstream into the city from Ouanaminthe and the surrounding sections.
