History[]
Situated at the eastern extremity of the commune of Aquin, Frangipane is the second largest of Aquin's 11 communal sections, after 1reFlamands. It is located at a fixed distance of 18 leagues from Ville d'Aquin. In 1890, the Deputy for Côtes-de-Fer proposed to the Chamber to allocate this rural section to his commune, as it was closer. The deputy from Aquin fought this motion, leading to its rejection by the Chamber during its session on July 28. Notable locations included Chacha, Murat, Godet, Basset, Doriol, Mombin and others.
