History[]
On May 2, 1800, when Rigaud's army was retreating to the south, Dessalines stopped at the Valué habitation. When he resumed his march on Petit-Goave, his vanguard was assaulted by fire from a camp stationed on the top of a hill overlooking the main road. Colonel Dommage rushed against the Rigaudins and dispersed them into the woods.
