The Chaîne des Matheux (English: Chain of Matthew) is a mountain range located in the center of Haiti just north of the capital Port-au-Prince.

The chain of Matheux is 75 kilometers (45 miles) long and twenty kilometers wide (12 miles). The average altitude is between 1,200 meters and 1,300 meters (~4,000 ft.). The highest point is the summit of Morne Baptiste which rises to 1,575 meters (5,200 ft.) above sea level and on which stands Fort Delpeche. The chain of Matheux is located between the Artibonite Plain and the Saint-Mark's Channel, to the Cul-de-Sac Plain and narrows to the southeast with the Morne Saut d'Eau. After having rounded by the north the Trou Caïman lake , the chain of Matheux widens again and changes its name to take that of chain of Trou d'Eau, which is an offshoot of the Sierra de Neiba in the Dominican Republic.

At the foot of this chain and near the coastline extends the Arcahaie Plain (9,880 ha), watered by several rivers: the Rivière Bretelle, Rivière Courjolles, the Matheux river, the Montrouis river and the Torcelle River. The Great St. Marc's River and St. Marc's Little River take their source in the western part of the chain of Matheux before flowing into the Gulf of Gonâve through the city of Saint-Marc which has them given his name.

A volcano rises in the chain of Matheux, the volcano of La Vigie or Morne La Vigie. It rises to 831 meters (2,700 ft.) above sea level and occupies a depression of about 40 km (25 miles) in the heart of the chain of Matheux, north of Cabaret and southwest of the town of Saut-d'Eau , in the localities known as Savanne-Michel and Grande-Savane.

The mountain is largely deforested. Nevertheless, the northern flanks of this chain are covered with banana plantations .
