Aquin is an arrondissement of Haiti, a subdivision of the South Department. It was created around the town of Aquin, which is its chief-place. It is populated by 198,091 inhabitants (census by 2009 estimate)

1. Aquin☆ (104,216) This quintessential Caribbean destination, nestled conveniently between Port-au-Prince and Les Cayes, is best known for its cultural diversity and strong intermingling. At 639 square kilometers, the largest of all municipalities in the Republic, its land area consists of many distinct geographical features including a 50 kilometer (30 mile) shoreline and lush green hills that abut the Aquin Plain. Its position between the capital and Les Cayes earned it the nickname "Gateway to the South." Tourism contributes to the economy of Aquin, the seat of of government of this borough.
2. Cavaillon (48,687) This french colonial town, with its parish erected since 1720, has a special charm. The territory consists of plains, iron mines, and the beautiful Cavaillon River, which takes its source at the nearby Macaya Peak. The river attracts tourists to this rural town. Its prominent feature, Morne Bleu, has several caverns where proof of indigenous habitation can be found.
3. Saint-Louis-du-Sud (64,924) Since 1655, this town was called Cromwell Bay, because the English fleet which conquered Jamaica anchored here under its famous protectorate. The name which it carries today was given to it in 1677. It has the same namesake as the US State of Louisiana. On the outskirts of Saint-Louis-du-Sud is a French fort, called Fort de Oliviers, which displays armor and cannons. The shores of this town are endowed with white sand beaches.
4. Fond-des-Blancs (7,820) Regarding its calm and its splendid greenery, this small jewel remains largely untapped and unexplored. Its position as a mountainous community guarantees difficult access via its 18 kilometer rocky dirt road. It is the home of many people of Polish descent. This is a place where Haitians have blonde hair and green eyes.
